ReStart Empowering Returning Citizen Program is an intensive (post release) re-entry program in which a small group of men and women (12-15) residing in a community half-way house, transitional home, or associated with CSOSA will learn the methods and skills needed to take up, resume, and restart their lives in the community. This program cultivates:
Self-Discovery – the process of acquiring insight into one’s own character; finding one’s purpose: the why I’m here on this earth.
Self-Management – self-control and the taking of responsibility for one’s own behavior, well-being, and resources (spirit, soul, and body).
Self-Actualization – the fulfillment of one’s own talents and potentialities; a manifestation of self coupled with a healthy imagination.
This program will help the returning citizen make the necessary adjustments in their life; it will teach them how plan for the future and stop making the same mistakes and decisions that have hindered them in the past. It even teaches them how to separate themselves from thoughts; how to see them from a distance without participating or entertaining them; how to locate, tap into , and receive guidance from their spirit in order to know and fulfill their purpose and more.
ReStart is a certificate program and each participate must be recommended and orientated prior to participation in the program; however, apart from the program, workshops are being held every Thursday starting at 6:00 p.m. at 1231-B Good Hope Road S.E. Washington, DC 20020 (the HIVE 2.0). These workshops celebrates diligence, honoring the conscience, discipline, conflict management & resolution, and more.
